Rizk Sultan Tafesh’s Story
Meet Rizk. Rizk was a blacksmith in Gaza before an injury in June 2024 led to the amputation of his left foot, leaving him unable to work. Amid unimaginable loss, his prosthetic limb also helped him retrieve family members from beneath the rubble.
After receiving physical therapy at ALPC, Rizk was fitted with a new, lightweight 3D-printed prosthetic limb with support from Physicians for Palestine. Weighing just 1 kilogram, it allows him to move comfortably, regain his independence, and return to work.
For Rizk, this prosthetic limb represents more than mobility. It is a chance to rebuild his life.

Lubna's Story
Meet Lubna. Lubna lost her kidneys due to Type 1 diabetes and lives with severe osteoporosis, causing chronic pain and fractures. She lives in Sinjil, a town in the West Bank where movement is often restricted and travel can be dangerous or impossible.
For someone who needs dialysis to stay alive, these barriers are life-threatening. Home dialysis changed that. It allows Lubna to receive life-saving treatment safely inside her own home without blocked gates, dangerous journeys, or missed care.
